Insights Evening - Kenneth MacMillan's Romeo & Juliet

Back by popular demand, Queensland Ballet’s Insights Evenings take our audience beyond the stage.

Gain an all-round insight into Queensland Ballet’s blockbuster event of the year, Kenneth MacMillan’s Romeo & Juliet.

From leading the orchestra, to adding the finishing touches on some of the most iconic pas de deux in the classical repertoire, you’ll hear insights from a stellar group of creatives. Our Ballet Master, James Barton, will host an engaging discussion with Gary Harris (Stager and Fight Director), Laura Morera (Principal Coach and recently retired Principal Artist at The Royal Ballet) and Jonathan Lo (Romeo & Juliet Guest Conductor and Music Director at The Australian Ballet).

You’ll also experience two of our dancers being coached by Laura Morera while they rehearse one of the most iconic scenes of this production, the bedroom pas de deux.

Please note: Suitable for ages 12 and above, with the experience running for 45 minutes in the Talbot Theatre followed by a cash bar in the Theatre Foyer.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and perform. Long before we performed on this land, it played host to the dance expression of our First Peoples. We pay our respects to their Elders — past, present and emerging — and acknowledge the valuable contribution they have made and continue to make to the cultural landscape of this country.
