A series of gentle guided walks to prepare you for the adventure of a lifetime on the Camino de Santiago.
To prepare for the Camino de Santiago 2026, Queensland Ballet is partnering with Climbing Mountains for a series of guided training walks led by Chris Moyle. Starting at the Thomas Dixon Centre, there will be nine walks over twelve months—three in the first six months and monthly walks in the final stretch, featuring hikes at scenic spots like Mt Coot-tha. Each walk gradually increases in intensity, covering essential Camino skills such as hiking uphill, handling long-distance mental endurance, choosing the right footwear, and backpacking techniques. Perfect for those curious about multi-day hikes or preparing for the Camino experience.

The very best of the Camino is experienced by walking rolling hills, and as a group we will gently walk the last 100 km, staying in 5-4 Star hotels and dining in the loveliest restaurants, with an all-inclusive package. The Camino de Santiago, also known as the Way of St. James, is a network of ancient pilgrimage routes that lead to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain, where the remains of the apostle Saint James are said to be buried. The most popular route, the Camino Francés, starts in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in France and goes to Santiago de Compostela.
