Amelia Waller

Born in Dandenong, Victoria, Amelia studied dance at the Victorian College of the Arts and Christine Walsh Dance Centre. 

She joined Queensland Ballet in 2002 and was promoted to Soloist in 2006. During her time with the Company she performed many Principal roles including Carmen in Francois Klaus' Carmen, Mermaid in Francois Klaus' The Little Mermaid and Stella in Francois Klaus' A Streetcar Named Desire for which she was norminated the Most Outstanding Dancer award. She was also awarded Best Comedic Performance for Mildred in Francois Klaus' Cloudland.

In 2010, Amelia moved to Germany to join Leipzig Ballet as a Soloist. During her time there she was nominated for the Most Outstanding Dancer award for her role in Chaplin at the Thalia awards in Czech Republic. She created dance trailers for Leipzig Ballet and short dance films that were used as part of Leipzig Ballet intershop/young choreographers program.

In 2015, she was a guest Principal with the Balet Národního divadla moravskoslezského. In 2016, she returned to Australia to work as a dance teacher and coach.
