Krzysztof Pastor

One of the most highly-awarded ballet choreographers worldwide, Krzysztof Pastor has held the prestigious positions of Resident Choreographer at the Dutch National Ballet and Director of Lithuanian National Ballet, and is currently Director of the Polish National Ballet.

Completing his first choreographic work in 1986, Pastor has since gained considerable recognition as a master choreographer, creating nearly 50 ballets to date, for many of the world’s most acclaimed ballet companies including Dutch National Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, Scottish Ballet, Washington Ballet, Lithuanian National Ballet, The Australian Ballet, Royal New Zealand Ballet and Hong Kong Ballet.

Among his many accomplishments, Pastor was awarded the Medal of 200 Years of Polish Ballet in 2000 by the Ministry of Culture in Poland, and the Dancers’ Fund ‘79 Choreography Prize in the Netherlands. In 2010 the Polish Theatre Arts Union presented him with the prestigious Terpsichore Award, and in 2011 he received the highest cultural award by the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage, the “Gloria Artis” Gold Medal. In 2021, Pastor was awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Order for Merits to Lithuania.
