Discover the joy of dance


We are thrilled to bring the magic of dance to Cairns with Queensland Ballet on Tour in April-May, thanks to the support of Arts Queensland. As part of our tour, Queensland Ballet Teaching Artists will be delivering Ballet and Repertoire classes at CPAC. These one-off classes are designed for all abilities, for dancers aged 6 – 18 years. Ballet experience welcome, but not required. Queensland Ballet thanks CPAC for hosting these Community Classes.

  • 3:30pm - 4:30pm Junior Ballet and Repertoire (6-9 years)

This fun and engaging class is for dancers aged 6 - 9 years. In this class, our experienced Teaching Artists will guide students through a ballet class to warm up, finishing with a piece of adapted repertoire from Coppélia. No prior ballet experience is required to participate in this class.

  • 4:30pm – 5:30pm Intermediate Ballet and Repertoire (10-13 years)

This class is for dancers aged 10 - 13 years. Our experienced Teaching Artists will guide students through a ballet class to warm up before finishing with a piece of adapted repertoire from Coppélia. Prior ballet experience is welcome but not required to participate in this class.

  • 5:30pm - 6:30pm Advanced Ballet and Repertoire 14+

This class is open to dancers aged 14+, and we encourage attendance if you are at an advanced/experienced level in your ballet training. Class will commence with a selection of barre and centre exercises to warm up, followed by the learning of a piece of repertoire from Coppélia.
