For children ages 2-5 years and 6-12 years.


Enter a sparkling winter wonderland with Queensland Ballet Teaching Artists for a magical workshop, exploring the characters, storytelling and ballet moves from Ben Stevenson's The NutcrackerQueensland Ballet's longest running production.

Children are recommended to wear comfortable clothing to allow for movement. If they have dance shoes they can bring them, otherwise bare feet or comfortable shoes are acceptable.

No previous dance experience is required to participate.



2-5-year-old workshop:


In this delightful workshop children will create special memories together with their parent/carer, by exploring the story, music and characters of The Nutcracker.

Please note that only one parent or carer may enter the studio to participate in the workshop with your child. Any additional family members are kindly asked to wait outside the studio in our foyer.

*Accompanying Parent/Carer is not required to purchase a ticket. Only children participating in the workshop require a ticket.


6-12-year-old workshop:


Our expert Teaching Artists will take your children on a magical adventure to develop their storytelling and creative movement skills, by exploring adapted repertoire from The Nutcracker.

We kindly ask all parents/carers to remain in the Thomas Dixon Centre for the duration of the workshop. Please enjoy our facilities and relax in the foyer.
